Civil ceremony

Marriages with civil rites and civil unions may be officiated by a lay celebrant.
Relying on a professional and not on a cold municipal employee makes the ceremony completely different from the ones we are used to seeing.
The legal procedure is quite simple.
The bride and groom must apply to the municipality where the ceremony is to take place and ask that a person of their choice perform the ceremony, stating their reasons. It is the mayor who decides whether they want to give the assignment, but usually there are no obstacles to this request.
The celebrant will have to go to the municipality to sign the necessary documents. It is not necessary for the celebrant to be present at the signing of the banns.
The civil ceremony can be incorporated into a richer ceremony. In this way you can personalise, enrich and embellish your vow with music and texts of your choice.
The ingredients that will make your ceremony unique can be many.
You can introduce a reading, let a friend speak, insert a ritual. I will help you put them together. It will be a beautiful moment for you and for all the people who will be present.
On the day of the ceremony, the celebrant receives the official documents and the tricolour sash from a municipal clerk. After the ceremony is over, the clerk will take the signed documents back to the municipality.
"Liana, the wedding was even more beautiful and intense than I imagined. It was a wonderful celebration that I will carry in my heart forever. Thank you again for your work and your patience.". E.
The set list
There is no standard set list for ceremonies. It depends a lot on what you want to communicate, who you want to involve, how much time you have. Always remember that it will be as you wanted it and that it will have to reflect your dreams.
But to give you some ideas, here are some of the best-loved moments:
Groom entrance;
Bride entrance;
Opening greetings and introduction to the ceremony;
History of the bride and groom;
Rite;
First part of the civil rite: reading of the articles of law;
Vows;
Exchange of rings;
Proclamation of marriage and couple’s kiss
Second part of the civil rite: reading of the final part of the documents;
Signing of documents;
Exit of the bride and groom and throwing of rice
These points can be modified. You can add some of the rituals you find in my blog. The important thing is that your ceremony fits you like your wedding dress. It will be as beautiful as you will be!
